Phumyoeung Community Development Organization was founded in March 2013 after receiving our license from Cambodia’s Ministry of Interior as a local NGO. Our organization focuses on community development through education, especially in areas where poverty exists.
We appreciate the value of English as an increasingly important language in Cambodia, which has one of the fastest developing economies among the South East Asian nations and a steadfast tourist industry. As well as English, we also teach our students basic computer skills that will help them to pursue a career.
PCDO is founded by a mix of Cambodian locals and former international volunteers who saw value in performing educational activities in the village. Our name is derived from Khmer, meaning ‘Our Village’.
